Wow what a year that has been! A very busy family life and some of our largest events to date combined with unpredictable weather certainly made for some interesting weeks. But in true SCG style, we delivered exactly what we promised and loved meeting each and every one of our amazing clients. But, without our fantastic team of staff, we couldn’t have done what we have, so, here’s a BIG thank you – you know who you are!
In 2016 we received loads of great feedback and so this year, we listened and gave you what you wanted, introducing a load of new kit for our lucky glampers, from proper camp beds (instead of inflatables) to luxury white cotton bed linen and brand new bunting.
We started the season way back in April (when it was sunny) in various campsites across the South and as wedding season began, we spent week after week bringing couple’s dreams to life – which is why we love this job so much. Surrey & West Sussex was our second home throughout June and many hours were spent on the road. I have to say I can blame one particular journey up to East Grinstead for my new hate for the Rag & Bone Man… Terry had his album on loop the whole way. Anyway, I digress!
July was FESTIVAL month for us and the start of our 30 tent set ups – each tent totally bespoke to order. We love a challenge and in 25 degree heat the first one was! Many litres of water were consumed and the boss man (aka AJ) even drove to the nearest garage for a staff ice cream run.
And then, August arrived, along with the wind and rain. But more importantly in all her glory our beautiful Celeste Marquee (by South Coast Marquees) helped create numerous stunning festival weddings along with bell tents as accommodation. We’re already booking up for more festival weddings in 2018, so if you’re thinking of reserving your date, do it now to avoid disappointment.
After a seriously busy month, September was upon us and we set up the last of our weddings, some here in Hampshire and one as far as Berkshire! And now, we’ve arrived in October and I can’t understand where the year has gone?!
The season has finished, the barn is shut down for the winter and now we’re packing our bags to head off on a well deserved family break to France to eat lots of cheese! But fear not, orders are already being placed for new 2018 stock and we have a few little tweaks to the website and offers to put in place for the start of the new season.
Although we’ll be moving to a quarterly newsletter until next Spring, we’ll still be on social media and of course, always at the end of the phone! Thank you to each and every one of your who has made our 2017 journey one to remember, it’s been a blast.
