Your Festival Wedding Checklist…

Yay you’re engaged! But what next? Daunted by the thought of planning your dream wedding day? Here is a handy starting point in the form of a wedding checklist to help create your BIG day. So…pop a bottle of something fizzy, cosy up together with your wedding notebook to hand (you will defo need one of these) and let’s do this! Wedding planning here we go…

  1. Ding Dong – have that exciting chat about what you each feel will make your dream day in terms of what is important to you in terms of style, numbers, location etc!
  2. Budget, budget, budget – setting this out from the start will ensure when researching ideas, you can pin point which ones work for you. For a starting point check out our festival wedding package which transparently outlines costs.
  3. Plan your guest list – this will help you decide on marquee/venue style.
  4. When – decide a potential date, check with VIP guests that this date works!
  5. Start researching potential wedding venues – It’s so important to be imaginative when looking for your festival wedding venue. An empty field will soon come to life when your epic tipi, stylish bell tents or stunning marquee arrives. Ideally search for a festival-ready outdoor event space.   6. Suppliers to bring your day to life – there are so many out there it’s a minefield! We are so lucky to work and be able to recommend some great suppliers so please do ask! Why not try our friends Linen & Lace who are specialist in event design, we love quirky handmade wedding stationary such as designer Daisy Foster Art. There are some amazing wedding photographers such as New Forest Studios for some very cool drone shots. Research florists, hair and makeup – a friend’s recommendation goes along one on trust with these!
  7. Entertainment, drinks and food – There are some fantastic and quirky food vendors out there. There are converted VW campervans serving fish and chips and fresh wood-fired pizzas. Our Celeste Marquee offers space for your guests to enjoy the food seated and offers hidden space for caterers to work from. We love the Fizz Tin for a quirky bar area or how about The Hop on Inn a route master transformed into a bus bar.
  1. Start your wedding dress research – take inspiration from websites like Festival Brides which features one of our clients Hannah & Zak, or Rock My Wedding.
  2. Comfy accommodation for your guests – check out our bespoke luxury wedding accommodation where your guests can glamp in style on your wedding day and sleep under the stars.
  3.   4. Book Honeymoon – this is personally my fave one! You will need it after a year of wedding planning!
  5. Order Wedding Cake – If you don’t like the idea of a traditional wedding cake why not organise a “Great Wedding Bake Off” where friends and family bring their best baked goods for the table! This way there is a variety of choice, adds a bit of fun and people feel involved in your day.
