Easter break is just around the corner and South Coast Glamping’s season is about to start. So, on all our New Forest glamping packages we are offering you a three-night stay for the price of two. The New Forest is such a beautiful location to camp and with ample to explore we wanted to give you an insight into the New Forest and its surrounding area…

FOODIES…

If you are a foodie during your stay we recommend visiting The Pig at Brockenhurst. In the heart of the New Forest The Pig is all about home grown, locally sourced food and includes a section called ‘Literally Picked This Morning’. Dishes might include breast of New Forest pigeon with foraged oyster mushrooms or ham hock with black pudding hash – you can nibble on a “piggy bite” whilst waiting for your food to arrive. The style of The Pig is sophisticated yet laid back, there is a walled garden and pond to explore, a large garden to the rear of the restaurant, shabby chic sitting rooms plus a walled terrace with a wood-burning fireplace for pizzas and grills. You must book as it can get very busy.

ACTIVITIES…

If adrenaline and being out on the water is appealing to you, you should visit the New Forest Water Park. This friendly and family run water park is the Souths First Cable Wakeboard System. The New Forest Water Park offers a range of family friendly actives. You can try cable wakeboarding, test out the aqua park inflatable course, or have a kayak or Stand Up Paddle Board across the lake. This is such a fun way to spend the day in the great outdoors.

The New Forest is right next to the Solent. In Lymington you can charter sailing boats or ribs for the day to take you out on the water through companies such as LYC. This could be to try sailing for the day, a spot of fishing, a Rib Blast round the iconic needles or a power boat across to the Isle of Wight for lunch at The George.

If you prefer to keep your feet on solid ground but want to see the sights you can hire bikes for the day from Cycle Experience. They will give you the routes and equipment needed to bike across the Forest. Alternatively, check out the New Forest NPA for all the walking routes across the Forest and to find out about group walks that take place during peek seasons.

ART…

We have some amazing local artists to check out for example Sea Stuff can be found on Lymington High Streets Saturday Market. A local artist who makes all of her art from items found on her two-minute beach cleans campaign.

Or to get a taste of all the local art you can visit Coastal Gallery.  At right time of the years there are always painting or pottery classes taking place across the New Forest.

BROWSE…

Lymington is home to a host of shops. Independent boutiques like the Frock Shop to large chains like Joules there is something for everyone. A local market takes place on Lymington High Street every Saturday. You can get a delicious coffee from a local coffee house and make your way along the boutique market stalls down the high street onto the historical cobbles where from there you can walk around the quay and out on to the seawall.

There are so many varied things to do and see in the New Forest. If we haven’t hit the nail on the head with the above, let us know what you might enjoy during your stay and we can point you in the right direction.
