Top ten reasons to glamp in the New Forest…

Glamping New Forest

Wondering what to do this summer holiday? You could escape into a world that feels a million miles from your everyday life into a place where ponies and deer roam free. AND this idyllic place is only ninety minutes on a train from London.

Here are our top ten reasons why a glamping trip to the New Forest is THE perfect summer retreat. …

1 Best of both worlds… The New Forest offers the best of both worlds from stunning countryside with pretty villages to bustling seaside towns. With ferry links to the Isle of Wight you can enjoy days trips to an island steeped in heritage or sink away into the wilderness that the New Forest offers. And by night you can enjoy fine dining and cocktails in the gorgeous sailing town of Lymington.

2 Animal lovers dream… The New Forest has wild ponies (cue singing that song in your head), wild deer and an abundance of other wildlife to spot whilst visiting. When walking in the forest you will stumble across these amazing animals.  You can also visit the Bolder Wood Deer Sanctuary where the deers are fed daily. For an educational day out and to get up close with the animals visit the New Forest Wildlife Park and for those of you who are interested in some of the smaller creature of the forest visit the New Forest Reptile Centre.

3 Arts & Heritage… The area has so much history. The beautiful Exbury Gardens has over 200 acres to explore and the summer months bring shady riverside walks and perfect picnic spots next to ponds with carp and dragonflies. Another talking point for visitors to the New Forest is Beauliue Motor Museum  home to over 250 vehicles telling the history of motoring. You can also visit Palace House and Gardens, home of the Montagu family since 1538, the remains of Beaulieu Abbey and World of Top Gear. St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery in Lymington explores the history of Lymington and the New Forest Coast offers a fascinating insight into the area for all ages. After browsing you can watch the world go by with a spot of lunch or coffee in the modern coffee shop.

4 Well connected… The New Forest is well connected. The main station at Brockenhurst is only an hour and a half to London Waterloo and under 20 minutes to Southampton Airport, Southampton Central and Bournemouth. Meaning you can be here in a flash by train plane or road.

5 Beside the sea… The New Forest is right on the coast. Meaning you can spend time relaxing on the beach or out on the water. Take a boat trip up the river at Bucklers Hard, or you could hire a sailing yacht for the day and enjoy a fun rib blast with Lymington Yacht Charters.  Why not pop down to Lymington Quay where Puffin Cruises run daily river cruises.
