In the fourth and final post in our #WhatHEN series, we’re looking at hen do ideas for #TheDancingHen – those of you who just love a good old fashioned night out and knees up with a bit of dancing and partying, in and around The New Forest.
The New Forest is a great base for any sort of hen do, whether it be for sports, food or pampering. It may be classed as a ‘sleepy’ area by way of clubs and bars but it’s not far away from some great towns and cities with restaurants, bars and clubs a plenty! Here are a few ideas to get your ideas flowing. Using the forest as a base (staying in a bell tent perhaps) you can access all of the below mentioned places by train, boat, bus or car very easily, so what are you waiting for?!
Salty’s Restaurant and Bar, Yarmouth Isle of Wight
For a night to remember with great food, drink and plenty of atmosphere, book a table in the bar at Salty’s Restaurant & Bar (with live music on Saturday nights!). Hop on the ferry from Lymington Town and within 30 minutes arrive in Yarmouth where only a few steps away you’ll be greeted at Salty’s. Arrive to a big long table, enjoy amazing seafood and plenty of cocktails before the live music gets into full swing and the tables are moved aside for a night of dancing and good times! Hen do’s (and stags) are welcomed with open arms and there’s no such thing as too much fun here – you’ll leave having had a great night, guaranteed!
With ferries running until late you can be back on the mainland and wake up in a comfy bed. For more information visit www.saltysrestaurant.co.uk or call 01983 761550.
Rubyz Cabaret Bar, Bournemouth
Running for over 15 years, Foxy and her Rubyz crew will provide you with a night of giggles and entertainment. From naughty ladies only nights to Burlesque inspired events and musical themed cabaret shows, you can choose from show only tickets or 3 course meal options too. Why not go the whole hog and pay for the party package and arrive to a decorated table and drinks? Arrive for 7.30pm with the show starting at 8pm running through to 10.30pm when the disco will get into full swing! Bournemouth is only a short train ride away from Brockenhurst or Lymington and group taxi’s can also be booked for about £50 return. To see Foxy and her Rubyz crew visit www.foxyzbournemouth.co.uk and book your table now!
Grand Café, Southampton
Head on in to Grand Café for food, cocktails and some serious dancing! With a fantastic bistro and restaurant menu you can choose whether to have a light bite or a 3 course meal. After food is done, mingle at the bar whilst sipping on some bubbles before dancing the night away with live DJs and music. Centrally located to the city, Grand Café is easily accessible and guarantees any hen do a night to remember. Either hop on the train or grab a taxi and within 25 minutes you’ll be at your destination – and once again back to the comfort of a bed when those feet are aching, in no time at all! See www.grand-cafe.co.uk for further details.
The Haven Restaurant, Lymington
For great food and a relaxed atmosphere with magnificent views across The Solent, visit The Haven where you will be greeted by friendly bar staff and a fully stocked bar! Share a large table inside with all your hens or if the sun is out take in the view from the terrace and enjoy sundowners from the outside bar. Visit on a Sunday evening for live music from 5pm. The marquee bar is also host to many larger events throughout the year where the party goes on into the night, so be sure to check out what’s going on – visit www.havenrestaurant.co.uk or call 01590 679971 to reserve your table now.
That’s it! We hope our #WhatHEN series has provided you with a touch of inspiration for your hen do. If you have any questions or even some more suggestions for us to share with our glampettes then we’d love to hear from you!
